Overload.

Finally!

Boats graduated his division yesterday. I am SO thankful! The kids dont all leave until next week, but the major stuff is done. He should be off for a while now until he has to pick up the next group.

Seeing him in his element always gives me goosebumps. I have gone to all but one of his graduations. The last one I went too, Bug wasn't even a year old yet. When we went yesterday... I remembered why they were such a pain to go to, haha. We must have had to get up 5 times to go potty, and 2 of those trips actually produced potty. She wanted to run around and be loud... just be a 2 year old in a not-so-friendly-for-two-year-olds environment.

School is going ok. I thought I had gotten myself ahead last week, but I'm pretty sure I took that as a reason to slack off, and now I am killing myself to get everything done before tomorrow. All I have left is my Humanities class now, but I finished my Bible class last night with 90% on the quiz, criminal justice midterm the night before with 92%, and philosophy the night before that for another 92%. Not bad. So this week, when I finish the humanities class, I am going to actually get myself ahead so that I can work on the other two big projects. I have to do a summary for all the book of the Bible for one class, and a research paper for the criminal justice class.

Yesterday I picked my workouts back up. I did a two mile run (since I took so long off, I have to start over from scratch to build it all back up) and then some weights after that. I woke up with just the right amount of sore in the right places. The run felt SO good, and I think it was because I finally got a good running mix going. Ive never been the kind of person who does the crazy stuff while listening to music with head phones (I wont call Jason out on his busting moves to Madonna in the gym... that would just not be right :)) but yesterday I found myself air drumming during my run. Usually while no one else was around, but its all good. So hopefully today I will get two miles in again, but it will depend on if the rain holds out. I really hate running on a treadmill.

Other than that, not much else new is going on! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend :)

Back to school!

Today is the big day! Classes officially started for me at Liberty University. I have a HUGE amount on my plate right now, but I know I can handle it. I'm not delusional and think it will be easy, but I will make it to the end of these 8 weeks loaded with the knowledge I need to move forward and be successful in my studies.

I hope anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I'm scared out of my mind! Scared of failing, scared of not learning what I am supposed to, scared of loosing precious time with my family. Lots of things. At the same time, I am rather excited. This is something I have put off for far too long. [Much like my dental work, which round 3 of 4 is this afternoon] I hope that my hard work will help my children as they grow up to know that education is very important. That even mommy busted her butt and sacrificed to further my education to help secure their future.

In other news, I have a big project in the works that I don't want to unveil just yet. I want to make sure I can make it happen [and that depends largely on the approvals from the right people] before I put it all out there.

Last night I had a great time at home with friends. Some of my favorite ladies came over to watch the season finale of Army Wives last night. It was a night filled with laughter, snacks, and an over all good time! I love being around the people who accept me for who I am, and don't expect me to be anything I'm not :) I feel extremely blessed to have been able to figure out who those people are as well. It wasn't always so clear to me. I of course missed those who could not be here as well. Next time girls!

Now I should go chase down my naked child and at least make her put panties on. Well, I cant say naked. She DOES have on a beanie and winter gloves...

YouVersion

With my first insane semester of school fast approaching, I have been looking through all my course content. One class in particular is scaring the life out of me.

BIBL 104.

The book is HUGE for one. Then there is one (meaning than one) of the assignments. I have to write a review on all 66 books of the bible.

HA!

Might be a cake walk if I have read the whole bible!! In effort to help me with this class, as well as doing something I have been meaning to do anyway, I signed up on YouVersion. It is this really cool application that I can access from my android phone (but other phones and devices can be used as well) or from the computer. There are a number of reading plans, not to mention you can select the version you want to read. Sweet! I selected the 'Bible in 90 days' program, even though my class is shorter than 90 days. It equals out to 12 pages a day. I know thats a lot, especially on top of all the other reading Ill have to do, but its important to me.

If any of you are looking for something similar, I highly suggest you check this site out. There are plans for just Psalm, or the Old Testament, or Bible in a year, and quite a few more. Pretty sweet if you ask me :)

Taking shelter.

Last night sent me to a new level of scared. There is something about that fleeting moment when you feel like the lives of your children are in danger, and there is nothing you can do about it but cover their tiny bodies with your own, and pray for the best. Terrifying doesn't cover it. My heart beat was audible as it pounded out of my chest.

When I went to bed, we were under tornado warning, but we have been before and nothing has come of it. My eyes were closed for maybe 15 minutes and then the alarms went off directing us to take shelter immediately. Boats(my hubby) and I flew into the kids rooms and grabbed them up and hauled butt downstairs. Poor Bug was freaking out and shaking, clinging to me for dear life, but it was only a response to my panic. They boys were scared, but they were really helping out by comforting Bug.

The second time the sirens went off, we cleared out our inner closet. You read that right. A closet. Its the only place we have to take shelter in a tornado in out house. It is the central point of the lower lever with no windows. Not having a basement BLOWS.

So while Boats is standing out side like all the other genius men in our neighborhood (lol), the kids and I are chillin' in the closet watching Oprah and I am facebookin' from my phone. I swear, I got more info from Facebook that the news! A lot of people said they didn't even hear the sirens. There is one like right outside our house, so of course we heard it. Our poor dog (a Great Dane mind you...) got put in the bathroom with our two cats. There is no way we would have ALL fit into the closet. I cant wait to move back to California and just have earthquakes!

While we were in the closet, the kids and I all held hands and we prayed. Prayed the God would put his arms around our community and our friends and their families and keep everyone safe and the devastation to a minimum and no life loss. That seems to be the case, so I am grateful for that. I am actually about to shoot an email out to everyone in my small group making sure everyone is ok since we are all scattered through the county.

Today is going to be spent cleaning up the house so that Boats wont have to worry about it while we are gone, and finishing up the packing which is almost done. We have a lot of stuff! I think we will get it all though and hopefully my stress level isn't through the roof.

On another note, I recently signed up to go back to school. I am SUPER excited! Classes begin on August 23, and I was able to order my books last night. I am starting with my associates since the MyCAA wont pay for a BA, but I can move to that after I get the AA so long as I stick with my same school, Ill know ALL my credits will transfer to my BA, and possibly my Masters one day. I am going to major in Criminal Justice. I think I always knew that's the direction Id go in, but I wanted to focus on raising my family. Now that Bug is two, Bubba is 4 and Blondie is 6, I can start to work on a degree for when Bug is finally in school. I should have my BA by then, and Ill definitely be able to find good work. Maybe even a job that will help me pay for my Masters!

I guess I lied in my last blog, this one had nothing to do with my title! Haha. Maybe Ill get around to posting a second blog later on. I'm on a roll!
