The Ink

Here are photos of my tattoos :)

Lets start with my first [and worst!] I got this when Nate was one, so in 2005. The guy did an AWFUL job. He was very heavy handed, and I'm pretty sure he was drunk, lol. After time went by, the ink spread out and has become almost unreadable. This is one I plan on having covered up. I am thinking about covering it with Kadence's paw print :)

My second tattoo is on my left shoulder, towards the outside. It is actually my anniversary written out as 'Twelve XXVIII' which is 12/28. I love it, but this one will be getting covered up as well. Even if my husband and I work things out, our current marriage is dead and this anniversary is now just a painful reminder. EDIT (9/3/14) Now that we have finally divorced, its time for this one to go :) Maybe I can cover it with a grenade? :))

Number three will actually be undergoing a removal process, for the same reason as above. I had my ring finger tattooed because I have an allergy to jewelry. I cant wear anything for a long period of time or I break out. Next week I begin the removal of this one.

So after these 3 small tattoos, I bit the bullet and went big! I have other photos of the whole process of my half sleeve, but Ill just put the finished ones up here. It is definitely my favorite piece I think after Ritch finished it up for me. It was originally much smaller, and Ritch filled it out for me and softened it up.

From the start to finish of that last piece, there were other tattoos, so now they are no longer in order :) The next ones are on my chest, and my best friend has the same butterflies on her stomach! I think there is a picture of the both of us right after we had them done together that I'll have to find. I get a lot of compliments on the color of these! I placed them here since I cannot wear a necklace.

The next few are of my lower left half sleeve. There are really actually 4 seperate pieces in all that are all pulled together in it. First is of course my kids names. They are a little cut off since they wrap around, but you get the idea!

On the same arm on my forearm is my mother and child piece, as well as my crossed anchors and heart.

The last bit to this one is just a simple little piece, that my bestie also has but hers is on her foot.

On my left shoulder blade, I have my favorite verse in 1Corintheans.

And last [for now!] but not least, on my right wrist, I drew up this piece myself. When I look at it from my view it says PRAY, but from the view for everyone else, it reads as LORD. This is ONE tattoo, not two, it just reads differently when flipped upside down :)

So that's all of The Ink for now! I have a few more pieces in the works that I will get soon I'm sure, and as they come, they will be added.

If there is one piece of advice I can give, its that you need to KNOW what it is you want in a tattoo. It should always mean something to you. Some people get them for looks, and that's ok, but our tastes change as we get older and often times we outgrow a style. If it has meaning and was well thought out, not just an impulse, it will be a piece of art that you value. Id also recommend having a good relationship with your artist. It makes a huge difference. Of course take caution and make sure everything being used is CLEAN and NEW! Be safe, and enjoy your art!
